Middle School

Language Arts (6th & 7th Grade)

Dullard_classOur middle school students have started reading novels in class. The sixth graders have been transported into the world of Greek Mythology. They are reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, which is a story about a middle school boy who finds himself in a world where mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus actually exist.

Dullard_2The seventh graders have found themselves in the future in a post-apocalyptic North America where children are forced to compete in a battle to the death for the entertainment of others. In The Hunger Games, every year two children from each district are chosen to fight for their lives and our main character, Katniss Everdeen, finds herself volunteering to go to her death in order to save her younger sister.

Both of these books are page turners that have captivated the students, and we will be doing a lot of fun projects with them in the weeks to come.

2014-09-30_06142014-09-30_0616_001In our Turkish class, We learned the suffixes in Turkish. This is the hardest chapter of 6th grade. We then had a competition between groups of 4. Each group had to make 6 different sentences out of the papers they were given. All of the students did a great job on this!
